Toy Run 2022

December is a unique time of year for the Pidcock Motorcycles group, because we take part in something truly special - and we hope you will too!

The Derbyshire police UpRight team will be holding their Christmas Toy Run again this year, and we need as many bikes and bikers as possible to attend wearing Christmas fancy dress.

We would like to see as many Santa’s, Elves, Fairies as possible taking part in the convoy with the aim being to draw as much attention as possible to Upright’s chosen charity.

Last year we even ended up on BBC News: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-derbyshire-59728468

The Toy run will take place on Saturday 17th December, and it’ll start behind Roy Pidcock BMW on Fields Farm Road, Long Eaton NG10 3FZ.

WHO ARE YOU DONATING TOYS TO?

This year's chosen charity is again Safe And Sound.  Safe and Sound are a Derbyshire based charity that was formed in 2002 and since that time they have been tackling child sexual exploitation by providing support to young people who are at risk in Derby and Derbyshire.  In 2019 Safe and Sound expanded the range of the support that they provide to include all forms of exploitation.  Their vision is to always be there when young people need them and to prevent exploitation wherever and however, they can.  Further information on the fantastic work carried out by Safe and Sound can be found on their website at SAFE AND SOUND (safeandsoundgroup.org.uk)

WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP?

- Donate items that are suitable for children aged 8-18 years old. The charity does a lot of craft work with the children and young people that they support, so any craft materials, painting pebbles, clay / soap making or cookie decorating kits would be fantastic. For older children, vouchers for places like the cinema, bowling, or days out would be much appreciated.

- Take part in the convoy! We want to draw as much attention as possible! Tinsel-up those bikes! Polish those elf ears! Pop a Santa hat on your motorcycle helmet! Be sure to check out our social media accounts for ideas/inspiration from last years event!

Upright are asking for various locations to be hubs where members of the public can take their presents or donations to be held until the day of the event and we will also be amongst those locations.

Our donation point for toys is here:

Pidcock MC Clothing Store
Unit 3,
Fields Farm Road,
Long Eaton,
NG10 3FZ

(Right behind Roy Pidcock BMW!)

If it’s more convenient, you can donate toys to any of our other branches:

- Roy Pidcock BMW (right in front of our clothing store!)
- Pidcock Triumph in Long Eaton
- Ducati Nottingham in Beeston

WHEN & WHERE IS THIS HAPPENING?

The Toy run will take place on Saturday 17th December, and it’ll start behind Roy Pidcock BMW on Fields Farm Road, Long Eaton NG10 3FZ.

Riders should arrive from 09:30am on the 17th and the convoy will move off at 11:00am hours. We will then make our way to the Safe and Sound head offices at Darley Abbey Mill.

Let's make this year even bigger and better, and bring some much needed Christmas joy to as many children as possible!

See you there!
